Just updated V1.2, works absolutely phenomenal. At first i was questioning the difference between the Rockit and the Rigil, besides the obvious screen and all in one, it seemed pretty close but the price difference was a lot for essentially the exact same specs and laser lines.
Now with the update to 50 and standalone mode it works a damn treat and I’m enjoying the update the whole day today haha!
Very exciting stuff, that’s not even including the MAC OS version of Rigil software + the Rewind function for laser and on top of that the Texture mapping that’s going to be included. Shining3D really cooked with this update!!
EDIT: OHH also they were not kidding about the efficiency tuning, the computer mirroring mode is smooth as butter and incredibly responsive, WAY more than before to where it feels like a different class of scanner software now. Awesome.

Love this unit. Quite a bit of power on board. So far i have had success with scanning objects. Lets be honest though.. this is a powerful tool and there is a learning curve.. thankfully makes it easy to understand. Honestly, if i had the money… i would love to own the FreeScan… but the Rigil is AWESOME. Would definitely recommended.

Why did I pick this product vs others? After unboxing and doing the update, I can’t wait to scan the car. After the first try, wow, it was fast compared to other scanners. Without spray or reflective dots, directly scan without any issue. Everything is a very quality product for a price you can’t beat. Thank you for an awesome 3d scanner. I can’t wait to do more scanning. It only took me less than 10 minutes to scan the front. Unbelievable speed on this scanner!

I’m still learning about cad, 3d printing, scanning and associated technical jargon, but this device is amazing. I was able to accurately scan a variety of objects with minimal instruction. After reading more about the scanning process, I’ve been able to get better scans with fewer mistakes. The process is so forgiving. A machine that does a better job than this thing is an exorbitant cost, at marginal improvement. This is going to do everything I need it to with automotive applications, and more. Portability is the biggest convenience with this thing.

This is the first 3D scanner I’ve used. I bought this over the others because of specs looks like they were on par or better than the competitors but way more affordable. So I can’t say that this scanner is actually better compared to the competition but I can use rigil to scan most material of parts included reflective shiny surface.
